Lenient Marking Scheme for SPM Chinese

If you have taken Chinese as a subject in SPM, you're probably like me, currently panic-stricken over the thought of your result as it's notoriously difficult to score an 1A in Chinese. We've all seen the past results where in some years, less than 10 people score 1A out of like 500 students taking it. Some will probably have been told by their teachers that 85 is the minimum for an 1A. Some like me will probably know that sometimes that's not true as SOMETIMES, they RAISE IT UP TO 90! Of course, some of you will say that not everyone is currently worried about Chinese as it's not THAT difficult to score a pass. But hey, those who ARE worried, are obviously those who are aiming and praying hard for an 1A.

Well, if you're in this unfortunate situation, fret not. I have some good news to cheer you guys up. From what I've heard from a teacher who is a marker, the marking scheme was surprisingly lenient! Yes, you heard me right. LENIENT! I suppose that is not really THAT surprising coming after last year's shockingly difficult paper not to mention uber-strict marking scheme especially in the summary part.

Let's hope that there will be more 1As coming this coming Thursday. Fingers crossed!

Ya. That's what that marker said. One thing though, a lenient marking scheme doesn't necessarily ensure more 1As as they could just easily raise the marks for 1A to say, 90 perhaps, and that would still mean the same number of 1As as before.

do not put too much hope on getting 1A in chinese... Not to discourage you, but it has always been like that, that not many will score 1A in chinese paper.

instead, be proud of yourself for taking chinese, who cares bout the grades when many others dont even dare to register for chinese paper!

cheers
