Streamyx is darn crazy, and especially more so during public holidays like today's Thaipusam. I seriously don't get why the line gets erratic during days like today. It happenend during Christmas day, which killed off my day as I couldn't even connect to a single website, and now it's happening again during Thaipusam. The line is bad, but thankfully not as bad as Christmas day.
What frustrates me the most is that sometimes the line is very fast, and suddenly, even though you're connected, you can't really connect to any website. I tried testing my line speed once today and I can't even connect to the website! Seriously, don't tell me that everytime there's a public holiday or a big event, I have to brace myself for a possiblity of a bad line? Are you telling me that suddenly lots of people decided to surf the net and download a ton of stuff during public holidays like today? I'd suspect most of the Hindus won't be at home, and most of us would be out watching the procession.
And don't give me the rubbish talk of your line should be working fine. If you can't fix it, just tell me. At least you'd be admitting that you're not that good internet provider after all. I'm not trying to be unjust here, but just look at our neighbours. Thailand, Singapore, they all have faster broadband speeds than us, and the price is way cheaper. Thailand: 1Mbps offered at 599 baht a month! That's nearly more than RM10 off our pricing. Singapore: Up to 10Mps being offered, and where is our dear streamyx standing? Only 1mps nationwide. (2Mbps doesn't count as it's only in Klang)
I seriously don't know what streamyx is doing. But as economists say, when something is in monopoly, it can basically charge anything. So yeah, I suppose that's what's happening with streamyx right now.
ps. It's really frustrating right now, but you can cheer me up by subscribing to the Chung Ling Feed.
