It seems that most people do not know how to subscribe to my blog, so it is my duty here to break up what supposedly to you guys is Greek into simple and understandable language.
First thing, there are 2 simple ways to subscribe to my blog. One is through email, which can be done by typing your email into the box on the left with the title "subscribe to me" above. This means every new post from this blog would be sent to your inbox. Even though most emails now can store up to GBs of storage, unless you are a person who likes to archive stuff, it isn't recommendable. Why? Well, because most people do not read their emails everyday and that most people consider it quite frustrating due to the influx of spam and other unwanted mails.
So, which leaves us with option 2 : RSS Feeds.
Ok, first things first. You need an rss reader to read the feeds. Why? Because rss feeds are written in XML code, meaning it'd be real techno jargon to us poor average joes.
There are a ton of rss readers out there. A quick search in Google resulted in 156,000,000 results. Spoilt for choice? Don't worry.
There are 2 types of rss readers : the web based ones and the program based ones. For the program based ones, personally, i recommend Mozilla Firefox. Why? Because it's easy and simple to use. Also, it displays all your feeds right on your browser, so you would know which site was updated whenever you go surfing the net. What you need to do is to click on the button right at the end of the URL. If you move your cursor over the button, it should show "add live bookmark". Clicking on it will lead you to choose whether to book the feed under bookmark or bookmark toolbar, which is a special toolbar displaying all your feeds. Of course, if you are a person with a lot of feeds, this would not be logical. Which leads us to the second choice.
Web based rss readers.
I'm recommending google, yahoo, technorati and bloglines. All their buttons are displayed on the left of my blog. All you need to do is click on the buttons and voila...they'd take you to respective pages for confirmation on subscribing. What you need however is a registration with either one of them. Both yahoo and google will have the feeds appear on your customized homepage while technorati and bloglines will have your feeds appear on your profile page.
Of course, there are other ways of subscribing...but these are the ones that I'm recommending. For more information on rss feeds and how to subscribe, visit here.
